Mural Wallpaper Installation for North Miami Homes

The short answer

We install custom and stock wallpaper murals in North Miami homes, helping you size the image, preparing a smooth primed wall, and hanging the panels in sequence so the picture reads as one continuous scene.

A printed mural turns a wall into a picture, and the bigger the picture, the less room there is for sloppy work. One panel hung a quarter inch off can break a horizon line, and an image sized for a wall that was never measured can end a foot short of the corner. North Miami homeowners order murals for nurseries, teen bedrooms, dens, offices and dining areas, choosing everything from soft watercolor jungles to black-and-white city photography. Reliable Wallpaper Installer handles the installation side across 33160, 33161, 33168 and 33181, coming about six miles east from Miami Gardens. We can also help before you buy, so the mural you order fits the wall you have.

Four kinds of murals and what each asks of the wall

Custom-printed murals are produced to your exact measurements, often from a photo or artwork you upload. They give the most control over composition but depend completely on accurate dimensions. Stock murals come in fixed sizes, so they may need trimming on one or more sides, and you may have to accept that part of the image will be cut off.

Scenic panel sets, often hand-painted or printed to look that way, are designed as a sequence of separate drops meant to wrap a room or fill a long wall. They require precise layout because the scene usually continues from panel to panel. Peel-and-stick murals are popular in rentals but need a very smooth, clean, well-cured paint surface and can lose grip in humid rooms.

  • Custom printed: exact fit, needs exact measurements
  • Stock size: easy to buy, usually trimmed to the wall
  • Scenic panels: continuous scene, careful sequencing
  • Peel-and-stick: removable, sensitive to texture and humidity

Sizing the mural for a North Miami wall

Walls in older North Miami houses tend to be slightly out of square, with ceilings that rise or fall a little across the room and corners that are not perfectly vertical. We measure the wall at multiple points and use the largest dimensions, then add several inches of extra image on each side. That bleed lets us trim the mural to the real edges of the wall rather than leaving a sliver of paint at one end.

We also map anything that will interrupt the image: windows, doors, air vents, thermostats and built-ins. You can then decide whether to shift the composition so key elements stay clear of those cuts.

Installation day, start to finish

Morning usually starts with protecting the floor and furniture, removing switch plates and outlet covers, and checking the panels. We unroll each one and confirm the numbering, print quality and color match before anything goes on the wall. A printing defect is much easier to deal with before installation than after.

Next comes the layout line. We measure from the planned center of the image and mark a true plumb line for the first panel. The first panel sets the position for everything that follows, so we take our time placing it.

Panels then go up in order, each one aligned to the image on its neighbor and smoothed from the middle out. We check alignment at eye level, near the ceiling and near the floor, because a slight drift over the height of a panel is easy to miss until the scene looks tilted. Trimming happens last, with sharp blades at the ceiling, baseboards and around openings, followed by wiping any adhesive from the surface and reinstalling covers.

Children's rooms and changing tastes

A good share of the murals we hang in North Miami are in kids' bedrooms and playrooms, and those rooms change quickly. A cartoon forest that delights a four-year-old may not survive the move to middle school. For that reason we often suggest nonwoven or vinyl murals on a primed wall, which tend to come down in large pieces without damaging the drywall. Vinyl also wipes clean, which helps with crayon and sticky fingers.

In any room, keep the air conditioning on and windows closed for a couple of days after installation. Adhesive cures best in stable conditions, and North Miami's humid air, especially in summer, can slow that down.

FAQ

Common questions

Can you help me order the right size mural?

Yes. We measure the wall and give you dimensions with bleed so you can order a mural that fits.

Do murals need special wall prep?

They need a smooth, clean, primed wall. Large solid areas of color in a mural reveal bumps and patches more than patterned paper.

Can a mural cover more than one wall?

Yes, but the image will fold into corners. We plan where the corner falls so important parts of the picture stay on a flat surface.

What if a panel is misprinted?

We check every panel before hanging. If we see a defect, we stop and let you contact the supplier before it goes on the wall.

How long will installation take?

Most single-wall murals are finished in one day once the wall is ready.

Do you serve nearby cities?

Yes. We also install murals in North Miami Beach, Opa-locka, West Park, Pembroke Park and Hialeah.
