Wallpaper Murals Installed in Miramar Homes

The short answer

A Miramar mural project goes through four stages: measuring and sizing, choosing the crop and material, preparing the wall, and hanging the panels in order. Accurate sizing with trim allowance is the step that matters most.

A mural asks a wall to become a window, a canvas or a backdrop. In Miramar we hang them in kids' bedrooms, media rooms, home gyms, offices, dining rooms and on the long blank walls that newer homes tend to have above staircases and along hallways. Because a mural is printed for one specific wall, the project succeeds or fails before anyone picks up a brush: the measurements, the crop and the material have to be right. Our crew is based in Miami Gardens, about five miles southeast, and we install murals throughout Miramar's 33023, 33025, 33027 and 33029 ZIP codes. Here is how a mural job runs with us, organized by stage so you know what you need to decide and when.

Stage one: measuring the wall

We measure the wall's width at the ceiling, at mid-height and just above the baseboard, and its height on the left, center and right. Drywall in newer construction is usually close to square, but small differences at corners and ceilings are normal, and in stairwells the angles are rarely simple. The largest measurements become the base size for your order.

To those numbers we add trim allowance on each edge, as recommended by the mural supplier. That extra margin lets us keep the image level and trim the panels to the real lines of your room without leaving a gap.

Stage two: choosing the crop and the material

Once the size is set, it is time to decide which part of the artwork appears on the wall. We look at furniture placement with you. A bunk bed, desk or console can hide the lower part of the image, and a television can sit right on top of a focal point if no one plans for it.

Material is the other big choice. In Miramar, where air conditioning runs nearly all year and summer humidity creeps in when doors open, non-woven murals with a paste-the-wall installation are a reliable default. Vinyl-coated options are tougher and wipeable, which suits playrooms and gyms.

  • Non-woven: stable, breathable, removes in large pieces
  • Vinyl-coated: wipeable, durable, good for high-traffic rooms
  • Peel-and-stick: convenient but may loosen in heat and humidity
  • Canvas-textured prints: an art-gallery feel for living spaces

Stage three: preparing the wall

Murals with open sky, water or solid backgrounds reveal any texture beneath them. Many Miramar walls carry a sprayed orange-peel finish, which can look like a faint stipple across the image. When that is the case, we skim coat the wall, sand it and prime it. Smaller repairs like nail holes and dents get filled and sanded too.

On stairwell walls, we set up proper staging so we can work safely at height and reach the full wall evenly. Two-story walls in townhomes and larger houses are some of the most dramatic places for a mural, and they need a stable platform rather than a single ladder.

Stage four: hanging the panels

We unroll the panels in order to confirm the sequence and check for printing flaws. A vertical guideline is set with a laser level for the first panel. Each panel is pasted according to the instructions, positioned so the image lines up exactly with its neighbor, and smoothed from the middle out.

Seams get a light roll, excess paste is wiped off the face with a damp sponge, and edges are trimmed with a straightedge at the ceiling, floor and corners. Outlet and switch covers are cut around and replaced. We keep the room's temperature steady while the paste dries so the panels stay tight at the seams.

Murals beyond Miramar

We also install murals in Pembroke Pines, Miami Lakes, Hialeah Gardens, Opa-locka and Hialeah. If you are still choosing a design, we are happy to measure first so you can order with confidence. If the panels have already arrived, send a photo of the packaging and the wall, and we will plan the installation.

FAQ

Common questions

Can you install a mural on a stairwell wall?

Yes. We bring staging to reach tall stairwell walls safely and plan the crop so the image reads well from the stairs.

What size should I order for my mural?

Order based on the largest measured width and height plus the trim allowance your supplier recommends on each side.

Will a peel-and-stick mural stay up in Miramar?

It might in a cool, dry room, but heat and humidity can loosen the adhesive. Pasted non-woven murals tend to hold better.

Do I need to smooth my walls before a mural?

If the wall has visible texture, smoothing it first gives a much cleaner image. We will look at your wall and advise.

Can a mural be hung in a home gym or garage?

In a conditioned space, yes. Unconditioned garages get very hot and humid, which is hard on any wallcovering.

How long does mural installation take?

Most single-wall murals are installed in a day. Tall walls or walls needing repair can take longer.
